The race
I absolutely love this circuit, it is one of my favs, fast flowy circuit with no harsh bends and no significant hill. There is also a lack of women’s races put on here (apparently its quite an expensive circuit to rent out). So, I was so pleased when Trash Mile RT decided to hold a women’s 2/3/4 here. Looking at the start list it looked like there would be just over 20 women signed up so I was slightly surprised to see 43 ladies on the start list when I arrived. (probably something to do with the absolute awesome prizes that they had put on for all the races).
The race itself was great I really enjoyed it, it mostly stayed together throughout with just a few attacks that didn’t stick. Unfortunately, there was a crash involving one or two riders but I think they both got up after and I hope they are both okay. With the nature of the race being a 2/3/4 you do get a mix of riders, some experienced racers and some that have never raced before or arnt used to group riding and there did feel like a few sketchy moments but overall everyone raced really well and the average pace of the race was over 24 mph.
My result
It was a really stacked sprint for the finish line, which sometimes I do find quite hard to get a good positioning on so overall I was fairly happy to finish 8th.
Overall
I love this circuit and just hope there will be more women’s races here this year!!!
